sometimes I need to pop that balloon which takes me floating far, far away. to land and to practice staying grounded.
today I photographed my friends beautiful feet in the rain.

I learned how to swim in this pool. there’s something melancholic with a pool not in use. or perhaps it is just my melancholic mind.
~I remember the feeling of the grooved, plastic carpet under my feet. swallowing too much water while swimming. sneaking into the boys sauna. the smell of hot wood and chlorine water. feeling slightly shy but curious about nudity. humidity that makes your long john’s glue to your skin once you got dressed. wet, cold hair underneath a woolen hat. and in summertime the sound of the trampoline outdoors. bringing our turtle in a plastic box to the pool. scraping your toes on the concrete slabs. buying ice cream and mixed candies in the little kiosk and taking the bus back home with another pair of freckles and feeling happily exhausted~
hands are beautiful.
I believe I could pair hands with faces on people I hardly know. and on a man, I am often drawn to their hands.
…where the heart is. good morning from sweden.
(my father is so tanned that he almost disappears on the photo)
spending a day with my friend dorry, happy to see her, happy to get the opportunity to speak dutch again /my tongue twisting in my mouth.
~staying in touch, picking up the phone, writing a postcard, sharing. I want to prioritize it more, my long distance relationships.
counting the days before going to sweden, looking forward, anticipating.
caressing leaves, hugging trees, watching ducks, sitting on a bench-breathing, taking many photos.
that’s what I did in the botanical garden, such a magical place.
isn’t it quite amazing that the story of this project in france started of with a short, and what seemed like a somewhat random, email?
it teaches me to write more random emails reach out more often, to open up, to ask, to suggest. and it teaches me that I need to go against those heavy burden fears of mine as often as I possibly can.
second performance tonight, have a wonderful week you all.
