enjoying this city a lot. the architecture, the people, the food…walking a lot, soaking in the bathhouse. it feels more like vacation until now, but today we have our first performance so it will change. two more days, then we are off to bytom. by bus. jihoo.

the unbeatable trio
the unbeatable trio managed to hitch hike from ga’aton to zivon the other day. now, that is pretty impressive, two people and a dog, mind you…
i am walking on the thin edge between extremities. feeling happy and free one moment. then suddenly switching to feeling sad and fearful. and all the colors inbetween. how scared we are of the unknown at times. to let go. to look beyond the obvious.
what amazes me even more though, is the power of our mind. once we can crystallize what we do want and wish for, and thereby we invite it, usually the world conspires towards us and brings it, one way or the other.

do you remember that old top forty song by ub40? ‘girl i want to make you sweat, sweat til you can’t sweat no more’ i thought of that today. it is so extremely hot here. sweating liters all day long. anyhow. then i thought of the continuation of the lyrics. ‘and if you cry out, i wanna push it some more’ hm. pretty kinky, those ub40 guys.

the avocado pit is finally growing. and quickly aswell. it is so fascinating to observe things grow. to water the garden gives me such a satisfactory feeling. and calming. like hanging the laundry. those are a few household chores that i actually enjoy.
and we finished the last lindt chocolate balls.and the daim bars. the heat makes me feel less like chocolate, and more like beer and crisps. that is the ultimate weekend lunch by now.
in the end of this week we are going on tour again. it will be my last tour with the company. it makes me nostalgic&sentimental, but ‘a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do’..right?
spoiled brat
this evening, aunt yuko fried chicken for little bones. i topped it off with some goats cheese. well, there simply was no dog food around. i am like his well-treat weekend mother, who feeds him hot dogs and ice cubes(yes, he happens to love ice cubes)
and another night that i DIDN’T go to sleep on time.

‘the dog and the sea
bones was sitting like that for so long, just watching the waves and dreaming away. he is a great partner for the beach. chasing crows and eating garbage. talking about garbage, it is always extremely sad to see the amount of trash people leave after their visit. unbelievable. i am very pleased with my fold-a-cup from sweden and the lightmyfire kit. i can definitely recommend getting something similar. at least i can avoid many throw away glasses and cups, especially in a country like this where they still praise the existence of such. *not a very objective way of putting it*
p.s but obviously, i am just using the sites for the pictures, no need to order the things from across the ocean...
guests for breakfast
our neighbors have three amazing daughters. the other week noa, almost a year old and eliyah, four years old, came to visit. well, they do quite often. eliyah is one of rubys best friends. she gaved us a carrot peformance. noa is mesmerized by sound. she is always drawn to the speakers or the guitar. the sandwhich, tom, was sick and is usually more shy. ingetje gets the credit for the pictures.

through the lens
pictures by the turtledoves. we’ve had a great time. traveling, eating, talking. again, i experience my house very empty since they left. and especially since it is still going through this transitional phase, moving from here to there, closing this chapter to open another. for me, it is always hard to close things off. but i am excited to see what life will bring. there is the space for different options again.

summertime
yes it is. i am in a summer mood. drinking beers, making picnics, sun and ice cream. and lots of animalitos. a praying mantis was climbing on my leg. spiders. lizards. the pigeon abandoned the egg. i guess it won’t be a babybird. and i won’t have to worry about fleas. the good with the bad. and it is way past bedtime. but too hot for the bed. and i have loads of adrenaline from the performance. however, goodnight!

it is very noisy here. it is the third morning in a row that i get woken up by either construction work, some huge tree cutter machine or neighbors moving. grrr…
for the rest, time flies with guests, happenings and work. i found a desk with a little stool in the garbage in nahariya which i am very happy with. when i lived in the netherlands i found great furniture and such on the streets all the time, but here it doesn’t happen that often. and i got a little jar which is very old in a second hand shop. and more fabrics. and the i love bones key ring, which i will turn into a brooch.

this week’s favorites
summer is here. nectarines in yoghurt is my drug. potatoes, chives and butter is another. late night skype sessions makes me feel connected. sometimes i wonder what i will do when peak oil really happens, if you are there and i am here. will i walk? get myself a horse and carriage? it will take a few years before i arrive. still. how can i send you letters?
tonight sister a and sister l, i dreamt we went to Lapland with mum. and we ate spaghetti with bolognese in a an old folks home, which was also a flea market. *i dream a lot about flea markets, for some reason* i was drunk or just dizzy, falling on the shelves and the boxes of clothes in the flea market.
and again, it is the time of the month when i overdose on potassium. by now, i am convinced!
