this weekend has been quite intense on impressions. well, you might recalling the story of last week when i was planning to take a class in the morning, and we lost the car keys, the car broke down, and the search for the non existing street? well, the story continued this week. once more, i went down to the center to take this class, wednesday night. it was quite late and we were hungry, so half way down we stopped at a gas station to get something to snack. and locked the keys into the car….un/fortunately, we realized how easy it actually is to break into a toyota!
the next day, we drove off to the dead sea. we slept in a cave, spent the whole night alternating between the hot spring and floating in the dead sea, under the moon and the stars, watching the beach of jordan in the distance. amazing… walking back to the car next day, we realized that someone broke the drivers window, and the window in the bag. later, as leaving the dead sea, we drove slowly and found half of our stuff thrown away alongside the road. my borrowed jeans, the wallets, broken bottles of massage oil that i bought etc. quite lucky after all.
after a few hours of driving through the desert and ‘the valley’, we arrived in the area of haifa were we needed to drop our friends. one of them suggested that we would take a shortcut over the field to avoid the end of shabbat traffic jam. and that is how we got stuck in a huge mud puddle, with water reaching halfway up the door of the car. oh, what a funny sight, a messy toyota with broken windows, full of bags and equipment, a dog and four people stuck in the mud. after waiting for a while we arranged someone to come and pull us out of it. and today it is sunday again. back to work after an exciting weekend.
