a trip to the desert.
and a great list i got from a friend:
Here are the top 10 ways people give away their power:
1. Asking others what they should do.
2. Thinking God decides who gets what.
3. Worrying about how their dream will come true.
4. Thinking they have dues to pay.
5. Attaching to unimportant details and outcomes.
6. Believing in soul mates.
7. Thinking karma or spiritual contracts are absolute.
8. Fear of anything, especially falling in love.
9. Waiting for their ducks to line up before acting.
10. Choosing to be unhappy.

a temporary home under the biggest fig tree i have ever seen. in a few weeks from now all those figs will be ripe, and you could eat yourself silly…i had to escape the heat and the sun. listening to the creek and eating watermelon. spending most of the time naked, not a soul around but perhaps a few wild boars. reading ‘the art of fermentation’ and getting inspired to make mead. falling asleep at sunset and waking up with the first singing birds.

here some snapshots of people i saw on the streets, funky looking ladies doing this and that. how fascinating it is to observe people and to fantasize about who they are and what they are busy with in life. as a matter of fact, i enjoy it so much, that it was a real challenge for me to focus on myself in the vipassana retreat, and maybe even more so when there is no verbal communication, your mind can go wild with imagination and even just through glances we tend to communicate more than we are aware of.
how is summer treating you out there?

getting back from silence and i still have very few words to outer. but i will share this quote from william blake instead:
‘to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower
to hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour’
i might get back to you on thoughts and feelings from the vipassana at another stage. love and hugs so long.
